2017 global bandsaw blade market report

Palmgren’s 10-in. automatic bandsaw
Built for high output and heavy-duty performance, Palmgren’s 10-in. automatic horizontal bandsaw offers tight tolerances in cutting repeatability and accuracy at high cutting rates. It is equipped with a hydraulic shuttle vise feed system with split vises that clamp the workpiece. Its touchscreen multiple-job programming allows the operator to continually produce accurate cuts. It is made from heavy-duty cast iron and steel for stiffness and vibration dampening.
U.S. cutting tool consumption is up
May U.S. cutting tool consumption totaled $191.93 million, according to the U.S. Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI) and AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This total was up 14.2 percent from April’s $168.03 million and up 15.5 percent when compared with the total of $166.25 million reported for May 2016. With a year-to-date total of $908.04 million, 2017 is up 5.8 percent when compared with 2016. The totals here represent the majority of the U.S. market for cutting tools. USTCI’s membership includes North American manufacturers of cutting tools and members, which number more than 70, belong to ten product divisions, including metalcutting saw blades.
Everett industries celebrates 55th anniversary
Everett Industries Inc. celebrates 55 years in business manufacturing abrasive cutoff saws. The company was founded in 1962 by Chuck Everett. Today, Everett Industries has 28 employees, and its 37,000 sq.-ft. manufacturing facility houses a modern machine shop. Daily operations are run by President Bill Everett. Cutoff saws range from having an 8-in. to a 26-in. wheel diameter. Most machines come standard with manual or pneumatic clamping and a hydraulic power downfeed. Wet cutting machines are available for metallurgical applications and exotic alloys, while dust collection is available for all dry cutting saws.
Kasto to display at westec 2017
At Westec 2017, held Sept. 12-14 in Los Angeles, Kasto Inc. will present the automated Kasto ecostore tower storage system for flat goods of various sizes. The advantages of the tower storage system are its low space requirement, high storage density, flexible clamping and fastening, and short access times. The standard version accommodates materials up to 1,524 mm wide and up to 4,000 mm long. The system height can be up to 8 m. Other products that will be on display include the Kasto win pro AC 5.6 fullyautomatic bandsaw and the Kasto app, which allows users to monitor their sawing machines via smartphone or tablet.
