Amada Integration Continues
Amada Marvel Inc. and Amada Machinery America Inc. (AMCA) continue to integrate as part of the merger completed in July of 2018. Company efforts have been realigned by restructuring roles for each respective Amada company. AMCA now controls the functions of all sales and service activity in North America. Amada Marvel will be responsible for the manufacture of a variety of AMCA and global product offerings sold through AMCA. This unified effort will allow for the Amada and Amada Marvel product offerings to improve and focus on even better customer support.
New Bandsaw Blades From Lenox
Lenox introduced Armor VP bandsaw blades for extreme cutting rates in a range of materials. Benefits include coating technology that enables an enhanced AlTiN coating to protect the blade’s teeth from heat, allowing for faster cutting rates and increased productivity. An advanced grade of carbide limits tooth wear, enabling long blade life consistently. The blade can handle a range of materials at high cutting rates, allowing users to limit blade changes and increase their productivity. Key industries include steel service centers and metal manufacturers within the aerospace, oil and gas, and defense industries.
Starrett Appoints Sales Managers
The L.S. Starrett Co. announced three sales management appointments in North America. Jamie Feere (left) was appointed sales manager, Canada, industrial products. Feere has a 25-year track record of growing sales in Canada. Michael Connor (middle) was named strategic accounts, sales manager in North America. Connor previously had a 10-year tenure at Apex Tool Group. John Hibbard (right) was named regional sales manager West – U.S.A., industrial products. Hibbard has held management and business development roles in industrial distribution and manufacturing
for nearly 30 years.
Amada Marvel Announces Retirement
Amada Marvel Inc. announced the retirement of Bill Lane. Lane represented Amada Marvel for 13 years, working as a tester in the assembly department on the Vertical Tilt-Frame series. “Bill was a valued member of our team,” said Grant Groeschel, assembly production manager. “His knowledge and attention to detail will be greatly missed.”
Kasto Releases Light Function for Storage System
Kasto announced it has equipped its Unitower automatic bar stock and sheet metal storage system with an integrated pick-by-light function. The function is particularly helpful in storage systems in which the pallets or cassettes are subdivided into multiple storage compartments. After the load carrier has been moved to the station, a light dot is projected onto the field of the pallet or cassette where the article can be found. The operator recognizes the correct compartment and is able to store or retrieve the item without error.
